streetwork
streetwork
in the Czech Republic
Street work is the name given to outreach social work, which makes it possible to meet those affected directly on site. For people involved in prostitution, it is often the only chance they have to accept an offer of help. Street work is aimed at children, adolescents, women, and young men in the streetwalking areas of the Czech border regions with Germany. There, we are repeatedly confronted with shocking life stories and visible abuse of those affected. We meet people who have to sell their bodies day and night, mostly to German men, and we build trust.

our focus
One of the association's most important areas of activity is cross-border outreach social work in streetwalking areas and brothel-like establishments in the Saxon-Bohemian border region. We give the people affected the courage and strength to dare to escape or leave and start a new life.
We are often the only ones who ask how they are doing. Who show interest, listen, alleviate fears, offer encouragement, and provide support. In acute emergencies, our street workers provide crisis intervention, refer women to facilities, or take them into our shelter. In addition to distributing prevention supplies such as condoms, lubricant, clean syringes in exchange, etc., we also hand out emergency cards with information about our services. Those affected can get help at any time by calling our 24-hour emergency number.
soup kitchen
Since 2009, we have been running a soup kitchen in Cheb once a month for children, young people, and adults involved in prostitution. The people who take advantage of this service grow up in an environment characterized by financial and emotional poverty, desolate living conditions, social discrimination, neglect, and violence. During the soup kitchen, material assistance is provided in the form of food, drinks, and necessary clothing, toys, and hygiene items. In addition, low-threshold games and conversations are offered. Depending on the situation, information is provided on topics such as sexual abuse of children and young people, forced prostitution, and support services and ways to leave the industry.

The aim of the soup kitchen is to establish contacts and build trust. This forms the basis for motivating those affected to engage in more intensive and long-term support programs, such as relationship building, the annual summer camp, and the Christmas party for children and young people.
